This travel seminar, which begins with an orientation in Honolulu, offers powerful cross-cultural learning experiences that will transform your teaching. Through interactions with teachers and students, a home-stay and meetings with local people in their communities, discussions with political/business leaders and social activists, field briefings and presentations, independent research, and visits to historic sites and cultural attractions, participants explore the dynamics of changing society in Vietnam and Thailand. Teachers bring their experiences back into their classrooms through curricular units and projects they develop. An optional trip to Cambodia will explore the magnificent temple complex of Angkor Wat and the capital city of Phnom Penh.
