Proposed Project:

The attached Unit Plan has been created to adapt to the North Carolina Standard course of study and allow for the introduction of international studies through the continent of Asia.  These lessons will incorporate many photographs and items collected during the travel seminar and include inquiry lessons from the Classroom Discussion/Project Ideas for Teaching about Thailand and Vietnam already posted on the project website.

Additions to the lesson plans will be made after the practice lessons to be delivered during January and February 2005.  My school, Carolina International School, highlights studies of international curricula, but must also meet state standards.  Therefore, much content will be aligned to the standards using facts, items and experiences from the Thailand and Vietnam travel experiences.

Students will study, research and create a project on either country which will be presented to parents, faculty and other students during our Term Academic Extravaganza.  Follow-up reflections will be added at that time.
